The business initially started up as a small scale chicken farm in 1938 and has successfully grown into one of the biggest suppliers of poultry across Victoria. Our client is looking for an experienced Maintenance Manager to join their team and look after a team of supervisors and fitters.

Your new role

As a Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for establishing and implementing the strategic direction of Maintenance & Maintenance Stores in consultation with the general manager of Plant & Ops and ensuring it is aligned to the overall company's strategy , including but not limited to development and implementation of performance metrics, budget development adherence and establishing a culture of continuous improvement and best in class in all aspects of the division’s operation. Other duties will include:

  • Development and implementation of the short, medium and long term strategy for maintenance, ensuring it is aligned to the overall strategy
  • Development and management of the budget and performance of the division against all financial metrics to deliver cost-effective outcomes for the company.
  • Initiates, implements, and manages a plant maintenance program based on best practices in the food industry/farming, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
  • Monitor all key personnel to ensure that they are delivering to the performance metrics relevant to their role.
  • Additional duties may be requested by the CEO/Directors within the skill level of the incumbent.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree and/or Certificate or diploma in a relevant trade in a related field and 7 years’ experience, (at least 3 years of which was managing direct reporting personnel, including contractors) in a food manufacturing facility or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong deductive and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and a preferably knowledge of Mex.
  • Previous Food manufacturing experience
  • Great communication skills
  • Disconnect/Reconnect ticket, Confined Spaces Ticket (highly desired)
  • EWP, Forklift Licence (highly desired)
